“…Remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt…” (Deuteronomy 5.15)
How do we treat ‘the other?’ How do we relate to him or her? Those questions have been asked by people of Faith for millennia, with various outcomes for wellbeing or harm. In this edition of franciscan five people write of their own personal attempt to engage with ‘the other’ whether Christians engaging with Muslims or vice versa. They come from different places; they fulfill different roles in their respective communities. What unites them is their commitment to engage and the enrichment they have found as a result.
