Theme Prayer
Eternal Word,
Moved, and imbued with breath and fire,
their wills set aside,
Men and women gave utterance in human tongues.
And papyrus, calf-skin, paper, plasma screen,
the speech in the assembly,
Became carriers of your presence in the world.
Move us, too, imbue us with breath and fire,
That all that you utter, as the utterance promises,
May never return to you empty.
