Welcome to Postulants
Luke Daines has joined the brothers at Alnmouth to begin to test his vocation to the religious life within the Society of St Francis. He was made a Postulant at Alnmouth Friary on the 22nd September. We pray for him as he takes this step of faith and continues his discernment.

Sister Beverley CSF
Sister Beverley CSF who regularly keeps the St Philip’s Centre in Leicester spotlessly clean and welcoming was ordained priest on June 30th at Leicester Cathedral. She presided for the first time the following day at St Peter’s Church, the sister parish to St Philips. She is currently a non-stipendiary priest in community.
Slavyane Choir Concert at Hilfield
Following the very popular concert of traditional Russian and Orthodox music at Hilfield Friary last year given by the Sisters of Saint Elizabeth Convent in Minsk, we invite you to hear the male voices from Minsk – on Sunday 7th October 2012 at 7.30 for 8pm. The remarkable flourishing of this group of men and women , and the impressive work which is undertaken among the homeless, for children without parental support, and for those struggling with alcohol and drug dependence which the concert supports, is an inspiring witness to the new vibrancy of the Religious Life in the Orthodox Church today.
Leicester Parks Day – 2012
St Matthew’s Local Community Parks Day, Leicester Sisters Beverley, Chris James and Jenny Tee serving tea and scones and providing a quiet space to relax at Parks Day. The weather was kind and the day was a great local success, with something for everyone. We were sorely tempted by the inflatable climbing wall and the suomo wrestling, but stayed focused on the tea and scones!
Greenbelt 2012

I didn’t realise that in order to visit the Franciscans we had to start walking on water…! Many thanks to Catherine Walcott for the picture and comment
This notice within sight of the main stage was dry at the start of the week. The festival continued and was great fun.
