Leicester CSF

Living in a converted pub, in the heart of a council estate close to the centre of Leicester the sisters are a quiet, praying presence in a multi-faith environment. They are involved – from both sides of a lectern – in local parishes and occasionally contribute to diocesan initiatives. The sisters are very grateful to the Diocese of Leicester for providing the roof over their heads.

On the ground floor of the house is The Contact Project, a charity working with young people and their families, and the sisters enjoy the company of a small group of parishioners who meet for a Eucharist in the basement chapel – the former beer cellar – and for lunch afterwards.
In their own different ways, they are enriched by their encounters with the neighbours and contribute to the life of the area. One of the sisters has started her curacy in an adjoining parish. Another works part time at St Philips Centre, a christian charity for interfaith engagement and study, while one sister works with disabled students.

The sisters began this new venture in Leicester Diocese in July 2008.
