Holy Saturday
After the Good Friday liturgy we enter a period of waiting. Holy Saturday is a strange day, a day of restlessness and reticence, although in many of our churches there will no doubt be feverish activity in preparation for Easter. As someone once said, you cannot have Easter Day until the tomb has had a resident for a while.
“I beg you, Lord, let the glowing and honey-sweet force of your love draw my mind away from all things that are under heaven, that I may die for love of the love of you, who thought it a worthy thing to die for love of the love of me.” (A Prayer used by St Francis )
