News from the CSF sisters in Korea

Sister Frances, CSF Deputy Minister in Korea writes:

On Sunday 9th December we attended a Silver Jubilee celebratory service in Seoul. Among the three people celebrating their silver jubilee was Fr. Choe Un-Shik, who has visited us each year and been unfailing in his support and encouragement and prayers. We were delighted to share in the joy of celebrating Fr. Choe’s 25th anniversary of ordination to the priesthood.

On 13th December, we held a thanks-giving celebration for the New Learning Place neighbourhood youth centre. This is an occasion held each year to give thanks for the way the children have been able to be loved by many people and helped to learn various things, and so could be grateful for the benefit to the society in the neighbourhood.

neighbour centreWe celebrated Christmas with the church members of Gumi church, and shared the good news of Christmas with the young people of the Sunday school on Christmas night. In particular, several members of the New Learning Youth Centre attended the Sunday School, of whom 8 were baptised. Also, a mother of the children (bereaved 2 years ago, having 4 children) came to faith and wholeheartedly joined in the worship. The sisters often give spiritual guidance to the mothers as they offer care to them.christmas
