This terraced house, in an inconspicuous part of East London, began in 1982 to accommodate two professed sisters
and two professed brothers.
They live the SSF Rule and serve the locality and the churches, in both paid and voluntary work. As over the years personnel has changed, so have the activities. These have included: hospital chaplaincy, work with the large local Bangladeshi community, in schools, in local congregations and the wider Church, involvement in Peace & Justice issues, in housing regeneration, in counselling and spiritual direction, study and training courses, and work with disadvantaged people.
The front room of the house is the chapel: the household welcomes others to join in the daily prayer.
There is little accommodation for guests but visiting brothers and sisters and sometimes friends of SSF can be accommodated. The house is used frequently for meetings for First and Third Order members of SSF. When the community members are at home day visitors are welcome.
