The author wrote these ‘prayer poems’ out of his experience of myalgic encephomyelitis - ME. In his Foreword, Bishop David Sheppard writes of them as addressed to Christ and containing powerful imagery. The vocabulary is simple but very strong, and the prayers end, in the first section, with a fitting quotation from Scripture.
